Clockwise from top left: Jaree’, Amy, Lydia and myself
These women hold a very dear place in my heart. We’ve laughed over teakettles that melt, laundry that won’t dry and ukulele-playing men in gorilla masks. We’ve held each other as we’ve cried over homesickness, death and uncertainty. We’ve snapped pictures with exotic beaches, spicy food, volcanoes, and many forms of public transit. We’ve been so angry and disappointed with one another that we didn’t want to speak. We’ve tasted the sweetness of reconciliation as we learned how the Gospel redeems friendships and failures.
It’s been three years since we’ve been together but two days from now my internship teammates and I will be reunited in Omaha to celebrate Amy’s wedding. I’m excited for the opportunity to make new memories with these precious friends who’ve been such an important part of my life.
